Read at Your Own Pace
Speechify lets you listen at speeds up to 4.5x the normal rate — translating into 900 words per minute. Whether you’re cramming for exams or reviewing detailed reports, you can customize the pace to fit your needs.
Multi-Platform Sync
Speechify works on desktop and mobile devices. Anything you save to your Speechify library is instantly available on all your devices via cloud sync. Start listening on your laptop and finish on your phone — seamlessly.
Read from Anywhere
Listen to emails, Google Docs, Word files, PDFs, blog posts, Wikipedia entries, Twitter threads, and almost every web page. You can even take a photo of text using your mobile device and have Speechify read it aloud.
Screenshot to Audio
If you come across text in an image — like a page from a printed book or a textbook screenshot — Speechify can extract and vocalize it with a single tap. This is especially useful for students and professionals working with scanned documents.
Floating Widget for Accessibility
Speechify features a floating widget that allows users to access the reader at any time. Dock it, move it, or minimize it as needed. It’s always just a click away.
Inline Web Integration
An inline player appears directly on websites, enabling users to start listening without leaving the page or opening a separate app. This ensures faster access and improved usability.
Active Highlighting
Speechify highlights the text as it reads, helping users follow along visually and better retain information. This dual-mode input — visual and auditory — significantly boosts comprehension and memory retention.
How It Works
Speechify operates by scanning the active tab in your browser or app, converting the visible content into audio using advanced speech synthesis technology. Whether you’re reading news articles, academic papers, or just catching up on emails, Speechify instantly reads them aloud with smooth, human-like speech.
The tool is especially effective for:
Gmail and Outlook emails
Google Docs and Microsoft Word
PDF documents
